Build up to B1 Grammar: be, there is/ there are, subject pronouns and possessive adjectives. Articles: definite and indefinite. Plural nouns. This, that, these, those. Have Got. question words. Possessive pronouns, preposition of time. Vocabulary: countries and nationalities, every day objects, appearance.

Unit 1 -Time for our lives. Grammar: present simple ( affirmative, negative, interrogative). Adverbs of frequency, objects pronouns. Vocabulary: daily routine, healthy habits, free-time activities. Communicative functions: inviting, accepting, turning down an invitation.

Unit 2 - Sports and competitions.  Grammar: like and dislike + ing form. Can for ability, possibility, permission and request. Vocabulary: sports and equipment, adjective to describe sport events. Communicative functions: showing interest and concern. Asking for specific information, reacting to information.

Unit 3 - Places. Grammar: present continuous and present simple. Vocabulary: parts of the house and furnishings. Sports and shopping, prices. Communicative functions: going shopping.

Unit 4 - Grammar: countable and uncountable nouns. Some, any, no. How much/ how many. Quantifiers. Vocabulary: food, drink, containers, quantities. The menu. Communicative functions: at a restaurant.

Unit 5 - Living together. Grammar: past simple verb to be and regular verbs. Possessive case. Vocabulary: family and celebrations. Communicative functions: asking about dates, giving information about dates.

Unit 6- Personalities and experiences. Grammar: past simple irregular verbs. Could. Either/or, Neither/nor. Vocabulary: adjectives describing personality and experiences. Communicative functions: expressing or commenting about an opinion.

Unit 7- Clothes and cultural identity. Grammar: Past continuous vs past simple. Subject and object questions. Adverbs of manner. Vocabulary: clothes and accessories, verbs related to clothes. Communicative functions: talking about clothes.

Unit 8- The world around us. Grammar: comparisons of majority, minority. equality. Superlatives. Vocabulary: the natural world, geographical features and weather. Communicative functions: asking about the weather and describing the weather.

Unit 9 - On the move. Grammar: future tenses, be going to and will. Vocabulary: travelling and holidays, means of transports. Communicative functions: talking about travelling.

Unit 10 - Life-long learning. Grammar: present continuous as future, present simple as future. Zero and first conditionals.
