Contenuti: 

Unit 1- Identity. Vocabulary: personal adjectives, physical appearance, adverbs of degree. Grammar: present simple verb to be and have got ( positive, negative, questions and short answers). Communicative functions: making introductions ( introduce someone and give details about a person), linking ideas with " and, also, too and but".

Unit 2 - Relationships. Vocabulary: expression with be ( be keen on, be crazy about, be fan of..). Family members and relationships. Grammar: Possessive adjectives and pronouns. Plural, countable and uncountable nouns. Communicative functions: describing people.

Unit 3 - Daily life. Vocabulary: rooms in a house, forniture, chores. Grammar: there is/ there are, Present simple, adverbs and expressions of frequency. Communicative functions: describing a place.

Unit 4 - Extremes. Vocabulary: food, plates and cutlery.Weather. Grammar: How much/ how many with countable and uncountable nouns. Quantifiers: a lot of, a few, a little. Subject and object questions in the present simple. Communicative functions: describing the weather.

Unit 5 - Creativity. Vocabulary: free time activities, describing clothes. Grammar: present simple and present continuous. Verbs + infinitive, stative verbs. Communicative functions: including people in a discussion.

Unit 6 - Places. Vocabulary: places in town and countryside. Grammar: can for ability and possibility. Have to and don't have to.  Modal verb: should. Adverbs of manner. Communicative functions: asking for and giving directions. Writing an email.

Unit 7 - People. Vocabulary: life stages, past time expressions, -ed and -ing adjectives. Grammar: Past simple  verb to be, Past simple regular and irregular verbs. Writing dates.

Unit 8 - Stories. Vocabulary: character adjectives. Survival verbs. Expression for telling stories. Grammar: must/ mustn't. Past continuous. Past simple vs past continuous. Communicative functions: telling a story.

Unit 9 - Future. Vocabulary: verbs of prediction, jobs, future time expressions. Grammar: be going to, will, present continuous and present simple  as  future tenses. Communicative functions: making, accepting and declining an invitation.

Unit 10- Performance. Vocabulary: sports and equipment. Grammar: comparative and superlative adjectives and adverbs. Gerunds. Communicative functions: expressing preferences and making comparisons.

Unit 11- Experience.  Vocabulary: travel and volunteering. Grammar: Present perfect with for, since, already, just, yet, never and ever. Communicative functions: organising an event.

Unit 12- Change. Vocabulary: population change. Noun suffixes. Grammar: zero conditional, first conditional. Imperatives. Communicative functions: agreeing and disagreeing politely.

Con il docente di conversazione sono stati analizzati e discussi con gli studenti vari argomenti tratti dal libro di testo " World in progress".
